Data Modeling: Schema Design and Structure
Learn how to create Containers, Views and Data models
In this learning path, we will focus on the Schema Design & Structure of Data Modeling. Focusing on the Blueprint. This is the foundational layer. A learner must understand what to build (Containers, Views) and how to name things (Governance) before writing any code or loading data.
This is a fundamental-level learning path for anyone new to Data Modeling, but have some knowledge about Cognite Data Fusion. The path consists of 5 courses and an assessment, and takes about 5 hours to complete. Passing the assessment earns you a badge and a certificate to display on Cognite Hub and LinkedIn.
Learning goals:
- Learn about Containers and how to build them with the Cognite Toolkit
- Learn about Views and how to build them with the Cognite Toolkit
- Learn about Data models and how to build it with the Cognite Toolkit
- How to explore and look at the Data modeling schemas in Cognite Data Fusion
Prerequisites:
- Cognite Data Fusion Fundamentals (learning path, 6 hours)
- Data Modeling Concepts in Cognite Data Fusion (microlearning, 5 min)
- Core Data Model Fundamentals (microleanring, 8 min)
- Managing Resources with Spaces (microlearning, 10 min)
- Visual Studio Code or similar, for the hands-on
- CDF Toolkit version 0.6.87 installed
- Familiar with CDF Toolkit and its basic usage
- Read and write access to a CDF project (this will not be provided to you)
