An Overview of Cognite Extractors
An Overview of Cognite Extractors
Gain an understanding of Cognite Data Fusion extractors, covering their architecture, types, security standards, and deployment strategies for effective industrial data integration
This course introduces learners to Extractors in Cognite Data Fusion (CDF). Learners will gain a foundational understanding of what extractors are, why they are essential for industrial data ingestion, how they function at a conceptual level, and the various types of extractors available. The course focuses on conceptual clarity and a solid technical foundation, preparing learners for hands-on configuration, deployment, and operational management of extractors in subsequent advanced courses.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain what extractors are and their role in Cognite Data Fusion
- Identify familiar industrial and enterprise data sources integrated using extractors
- Describe the conceptual architecture and data flow of an extractor
- Differentiate between the different types of extractors
- Understand standard authentication and security patterns used by extractors
- Recognise typical deployment, monitoring, and reliability considerations
Technical prerequisites:
Basic understanding of data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, & Load) concepts.
Audience:
This course is intended for Data Engineers.
