An Overview of Cognite Extractors

This course introduces learners to Extractors in Cognite Data Fusion (CDF). Learners will gain a foundational understanding of what extractors are, why they are essential for industrial data ingestion, how they function at a conceptual level, and the various types of extractors available. The course focuses on conceptual clarity and a solid technical foundation, preparing learners for hands-on configuration, deployment, and operational management of extractors in subsequent advanced courses.

• Identify familiar industrial and enterprise data sources integrated using extractors
• Describe the conceptual architecture and data flow of an extractor
• Differentiate between the different types of extractors

• Recognise typical deployment, monitoring, and reliability considerations

Technical prerequisites:
Basic understanding of data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, & Load) concepts.
