Welcome to the Access Management in CDF course!
This course provides a practical introduction to managing access in Cognite Data Fusion (CDF), with a focus on best practices for designing secure, scalable, and role-based access structures. By the end of this course, you will be able to effectively manage access control in CDF projects

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the foundational concepts of access control in Cognite Data Fusion, including user authentication, role definition, and access enforcement through groups and capabilities.
  • Define the structure and components of access capabilities in Cognite Data Fusion. 
  • Implement best practices for structuring access in Cognite Data Fusion.
  • Understand the principles of access policies, user role definitions, requesting access, access reviews, and handling access to external tools.
  • Know how to troubleshoot and resolve access issues in CDF, including verifying group membership, confirming capabilities, and addressing unexpected access removals.

Knowledge prerequisites
Basic understanding of the access management server.

Technical prerequisites
There are no technical prerequisites to complete the course.

Audience
